DriveSavers Offers Japan Typhoon Victims Free Data Recovery
Industry leader offers free data recovery services to Japan residents affected by Typhoon “Hagibis” (Typhoon 19)
UPDATE: In addition to computers and external hard drives, DriveSavers is now accepting Typhoon-19 damaged iOS devices including iPhones and iPads for free data recovery now through November 15, 2019.
(KOBE, Japan. October 13, 2019) DriveSavers, the worldwide leader in data recovery, today announced it will provide free data recovery services to Japan residents and businesses who have lost critical data as a result of damage from Typhoon “Hagibis”, also referred to as Typhoon 19. The company is donating time, resources and years of expertise to provide up to 100 million yen worth of data recoveries from water-damaged hard drives. Eligible devices are external hard drives, desktop computers and laptops.
“DriveSavers has demonstrated unmatched success worldwide recovering data from devices severely burnt, crushed and even submerged in water,” said Nathan Bryan, Director of DriveSavers Japan. “We wish to offer our expertise to those who’ve lost irreplaceable data like photos and videos of loved ones, business files and financial records so they can recover from this typhoon as fast as possible.”
The free recovery service is available now for victims of Typhoon Hagibis. Because exposure to water and air cause corrosion on circuitry, customers must contact DriveSavers and ship devices no later than November 15, 2019. Limited to one device per business or household. Customers needing additional recoveries, and those with multi-drive devices such as RAID, NAS and SAN devices, are eligible for a 50% discount off regular service fees.
DriveSavers will accept as many water-damaged devices that it can up to 100 million yen in services. However, it may further limit the number of free recoveries based on workload and availability of personnel.
Those who require data recovery should call DriveSavers immediately at 0800-123-6243 (free dial within Japan) or visit www.drivesavers.jp. Data recovery advisors are available by phone seven days a week.
